It's not difficult to say "Thank You!"

This happened on the first few weeks when I arrived here.

One day, X (i'll use 'X' to represent that people) and me went to school by bus. After that , we had to the take the metro to school. When we almost got on the metro, X suddenly remembered she left her bag on the bus which contained a large sum of money and some documents. So X worried about it seriouly. When we went back, the bus had already left. However, X didn't try to find someone in charge of this. Instead, she began to telephone her friends. I was wondering how her friends could help in this circumstance!!! So I turned to an officer-like man in the metro sataion for help. I told him X left her bag on the 132 bus about 3 minutes ago. He asked me the shape and color of the bag, then he called somewhere. After that, he told me to wait 5 minutes. After I had done this, i couldn't find X...maybe X was still on the phone with her friends. What in hell was X thinking about!!!
About 3 minutes later, the officer came with X's bag in hand. X checked it, everything was there. We thanked him a lot because he really did X such a big favor.
Unfortunately, X didn't thank me at all and she had no intention to do this.
I didn't mean to show off myself, but at least I also helped her to some extent.

I always believe that what one person does reflect one's family background and what her parents have nurtured her. So I can see X's family through what she did.
No matter how wealthy the person is, I won't respect her if she isn't well-nurtured and considers other's help as obligation.

i agree with you Wendy. Even though your friend didnt say 'thank you', you'd better proud of yourself. I really admire the way you react in that circumstance, very calm and  clever. i think u dont need to care about that girl, just believe that you did a good job!

X is mindboggling!!! It's true that money is no substitute for growing up in an environment which teaches you to be polite, considerate, and appreciative of others. We are all a reflection of what our parents have taught us just as our children will be a reflection of what we have taught them. It's a pity that that girl didn't realized the value of having you as a friend.
